Avoid Drama And The People Who Love It

Avoid drama and the people who love it

There is no doubt that many people around us feel a passion for the habit of understanding and criticizing the lives of others.

Boredom, which can be defined as a lack of goals and hobbies accompanied by the absence of pleasure, challenges certain people who cannot find satisfaction in their own lives to look for it vicariously in the lives of others. This is the quest for an adrenaline rush they can’t find in themselves.

Tears

This is a tendency that we have all fallen prey to at some point in our lives. However, serious problems arise when this behavior becomes more than just a one-time incident. It becomes a problem when this behavior becomes a ‘way of life’.

Why do we surround ourselves with people who cause drama?

Most of the time, we don’t necessarily choose to be in the company of these people, just like a dog doesn’t choose to live with an abusive owner. In this case, the numbers simply fall on us by playing the lottery we call life.

These people can be a part of our lives from childhood, be our friends from college or our boss at work; they can be one of these people or all of these people at once. Perhaps these kinds of people cross our paths all the time throughout our lives or we may be lucky enough to never come into contact with these kinds of people. However, if this does happen, we should never put the blame on ourselves.

Giving these people a place in our lives is different from sharing our lives with them.

Spiral

How can we prevent these people from infecting our lives with drama?

Kindness, respect and emotional detachment are our best weapons. The answer is to gradually distance yourself. Once we have made the positive decision to distance ourselves from these people, we must convince ourselves to continue with this decision. Harmful behavior can be highly contagious and will not provide us with any benefit.

So don’t hesitate; we must first get to know people well in order to determine whether or not we want them in our lives. To be happy, we have to make choices. Our emotional well-being is the foundation for everything else in our lives, for both ourselves and those around us. Therefore, choosing to distance ourselves from people we think are unhealthy for us is a good and necessary decision.

Signs of a drama queen or king…

  • Constantly coming back to private conversations from the past. For example, this person who heard us say something one day will notice that we are uncomfortable in relation to this topic, but will still choose to play a dirty game. Maybe this person wants to torment or hurt us. We must remember that only we can determine whether this affects us.
  • Making negative choices. There is no other reality than the reality that we ourselves perceive individually. That is why we should not pay attention to what someone else is saying to us about the people around us. We must make our own responsible and informed choices.
  • Always wanting to have the last word. It is important to make it clear to the world that our individuality is a parallel universe to other universes; we all have our own perspectives and have to stand up for ourselves.

When we try to avoid a certain toxic person who likes drama, we have to separate ourselves from their social circle and distinguish ourselves from them.

Looking back

Try to keep your relationship with this harmful person to a minimum. If the relationship ends completely, it’s even better… our mental and physical health will benefit significantly.

Some people just come into our lives for the purpose of showing us what we don’t want to be. The greatest presence we can allow them in our lives is their shadow when we walk away from them.
