How Do You Carry On When Nothing Makes You Happy

How do you carry on when nothing makes you happy

Sometimes you can’t find your way and nothing makes you happy. Maybe your partner doesn’t make you happy, you don’t like your job, or you want to change the way you look at things and life, but you don’t know how.

The vortex of your daily life keeps you from standing still and wondering if you are really doing what you want to do. It stops you from reflecting on the reasons why nothing makes you happy anymore. All your daily activities distract you from what really matters: yourself.

5 tips to keep you going

A little healthy selfishness every now and then is necessary to recover, to learn who we are and to have the assurance in our lives that our lives are moving in the right direction. We must be sure that the path we have taken is one that we have chosen for ourselves and that it is not the will of others.

There are many things you can do to keep moving forward if it doesn’t make you happy, but it’s important that you take the time to properly reflect on your emotions, feelings, and desires.

1. Think about what you wish for

What do you want? What do you find exciting and what triggers something inside you? Don’t be influenced by what others think you should like. It’s about what you want, what makes you happy. We all have dreams and wishes that we are afraid to fulfill, but life is short and it is time to get on the road to what we really like.

2. Take Action

It’s not enough to think, it’s also time to start doing all the things that bring you closer to your dream. For example, if you’ve always wanted to be an actress, take acting classes. Go to events related to movies and theater. Hang out with people who have similar interests and participate in activities that make you happy.

3. Slow down the rhythm of your life

There is no need to do everything at once. Pause for a moment and think about what is urgent and what can wait. Take a moment for yourself to enjoy what you enjoy,  whether it’s a moonlit walk, dining out with friends or family, or visiting your parents. It is always possible to find at least a few minutes for yourself.

4. Dwell on your feelings

Our feelings are important. How do you feel about your current life. What don’t you like about it? If you’re feeling sad, it’s time to change things. Start with yourself, with the way you dress, the way you do your hair, the way you walk, the way you interact with people. Keep in mind you can’t make things worse; you can just experiment and have fun.

If you feel like you want to cry, do it. It doesn’t matter if someone sees you, let the sadness out. Don’t keep it inside. Be sure that with every tear you dissolve everything that makes you unhappy. Crying is a necessary evil. You need it to turn every tear into a smile.

5. Enjoy people

Isolating ourselves and not interacting with other people makes us distant and we sink deeper into our grief. We need hugs, kisses, touches, words of encouragement and comfort.

We should be with other people and enjoy their presence and let them make us laugh. You may prefer not to have company, but often when we feel this way, we actually need others and will enjoy their company more because our expectations are so low.

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

That’s an important question to ask yourself every day so that you can put everything that scares you behind you and just go for it. There are many ways of doing things and it’s important to do them the way we like,  but often we have to take a risk and overcome our fear.

Getting out of your comfort zone and doing something risky, whether you’re successful or not, can give you back the joy in life and let you know that it’s worth enjoying your existence.
